Members responded to a question about curly hair after stopping Anastrozole, with many sharing that hormone-suppressing medications like Anastrozole, Letrozole, and Exemestane caused noticeable changes in their hair texture, including unexpected curls, dryness, and thinning. Several members recommended helpful products like rosemary-based shampoos, Alberto VO5 2-in-1 conditioner, and argan oil to combat dryness and brittleness. A recurring theme was that hormone changes can shift hair texture, and members found comfort in knowing they were not alone in experiencing these unexpected side effects.

Good morning ๐ŸŒ… BarbaraSlager. I have been on Anastrozole for 3 years now. My hair fell out a little during radiation treatments. Fortunately it was not a lot because I was already using rosemary oil and it grew back thicker and longer. Since being on Anastrozole I have notice my hair has become more curly and dry. I found a 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner for my hair. It has rosemary and chamomile oils in it. It moisturizes dry and damaged hair which I had after radiation treatments. It's Alberto VO5. It's really great and my hair looks and feels better. I'm getting ready to get it cut and style for my 50th high school Reunion this weekend ๐Ÿ˜Š. Take care ๐Ÿ˜Šโœ๏ธ๐ŸŒน

I started using OBX Rosemary and Mint shampoo. You can get it at Walmart. I also found it at Food Lion, for the times that it's out of stock at Walmart. It has helped with the thinning and dryness after just using it for about a week and a half.

I was on Anastrozole for 4 1/2 years. I was suppose to be on it for 5 years but I quit early during to horrible side effects. Your onco score determines how long you stay on it; mine was 6.

My hair is very thin since my BC and anastrozole. I remember when it was so thick it felt like it took forever to dry,

I havenโ€™t started my hormone suppression yet however, in the last year, Iโ€™ve noticed that my always straight hair has started to show some wave, and I did some research. it turns out that hormone changes in your body can make straight hair suddenly get some curl and vice versa; curly hair can sometimes go straight. I l never knew that and it was very interesting to read up on. I start Letrozole after my Dr. determines if I need radiation.
