My oncologist said my hair should begin to grow back after I finish my chemo treatments. About how long until you noticed your hair growing again? Thanks!

Members shared their personal timelines for hair regrowth after chemotherapy, with many noticing peach fuzz or early growth within a few weeks to a month after finishing treatment, and most feeling comfortable going without wigs or scarves around 5 to 8 months out. Several members mentioned helpful strategies like taking Biotin, using Rogaine, giving scalp massages, and letting warm shower water run over the scalp to encourage faster growth. A recurring theme was that hair often comes back with a new texture or color, such as curly, wavy, or silver, and that while the process feels slow, most members found joy and relief in each small milestone.

I had 4 AC, two weeks apart, and 12 T, one week apart. My hair started to grow slightly shortly before finishing the Taxol. I am now 7 months out and my head is completely covered with hair, albeit only about 2 inches. I see that my hair is growing so much more slowly than before chemo, but happy to have hair. I still wear my wigs, but not so self-conscious without one. I just don't like the way I look with so-so short hair. My eyelashes and eyebrows are completely grown in. I don't see any hair regrowth under my arms and I only I have to shave my legs once weekly. Overall, very slow process with hair regrowth.

I'd say I noticed a real difference 8 weeks out.. I am now 12 weeks out and I'm starting to be able to comfortably go out without a scarf! A little bed head is amazing!

Mine started growing in after about a month and by 5 months I stopped wearing a wig. It came back curly and still white. It's a year now and gradually less curly, more wiry and thicker then it was before. I used rogaine and Routine hair products.

My hair has come in very straight, greyish white and wiry. Hair is also thin. Was told by my oncologist to try rogaine. Have to check out the biotin

I think it only took a couple of weeks to notice hair. But about 12 weeks before i needed a comb to brush and style it. But i liked it really short so i discarded the scarf at about 5 weeks
