I've been on anastrozole for almost 2 years. My hair is thinner and straighter since growing back after chemo. Fortunately I had very thick hair so I still have a "normal" amount of hair. I think it might be continuing to get thinner. I can't tell for sure since it is also getting straighter so there is less volume. I want to have some hair left after 3-8 more years. I have always had thin straight hair and was afraid the anastrozole would make it worse. I now have wavy curly hair and has not gotten thinner. The doc said the hormones are what regulates the hair and I am glad this is happening because it is the only positive side effect. Guess after two rounds with bc I should catch a break.
I am seeing my oncologist this week and asking if the other AI have fewer side effects
i am taking the same drug and have noticed hair thinning . I have been on it 3 years . I take biotin (Vit B) but really don't know if it helps.
I'd be curious what you find out.
