I didnt get on with Letrazole so have just switched to Exemestane. I think all these homone blocking drugs have grim side effects because it is so unnatural to strip the body of estrogen. It is worth trying a different one in hope of less side effects.

I switched from Breckinridge Letrozole to Accord Letrozole 7 months ago.

There is a difference in the affects of these aI’s from each manufacturer.
According to is supposed to be not as harmful.

I still have leg and knee pain and bottom of hip pain but not as bad and with the Breckinridge Letrozole.

I am at the 2 year point of a 5 year plan.

Medical Oncologist suggested yesterday to consider as a goal to get to the 3 year point and evaluate then.

Not as bad as to consider 3 more years.

I have only taken Anastrozole since April 2023, I had very little joint pain, mainly the knees, but walking solved the issue. No hot flashes, no weight gain, hair thinning and shedding every few months and lightheadedness . And my skin is super dry now, I use a lot of moisturizers.

Just started Anastrozole last week. Felt sick and dizziness first 2 nights I took it. Taking mine before bed as consultant advised. I have had aching joints and muscles, but I already have Oestoarthritis in hip and knee. Had pain in shoulder, lower back, ankles, wrists and big toe for some reason, but this has eased off now. I feel fatigued, but that might not be related to anastrozole. I have had some night sweats, but not every night and brain fog sometimes. I haven't had any hair thinning yet. Hopefully it will get better as I get used to them.

I think the differences vary with women. I've read women on Anastrozole did better on Letrozole and vice versa or they tried one or the other and it was worse. Ingredients of the pills might make a difference for some but they all block estrogen and when deprived of estrogen these are the side effects of that. When you really think about it, we take pills that stop our body from estrogen, a hormone we actually need especially for our bones that leads many women to take HRT after menopause to replace just the estrogen no longer being produced by our ovaries so these drugs are pretty harsh.
