I have occasional bouts with PF, at the first sign of issues, I start wearing a brace at night, which keeps the muscle stretched out, so no morning re-tears. Then when it feels safe, I will try again without the brace. It has really helped! Hugs!

***That said, no one undergoing daily radiation would consider doing anything in a pool. No oncologist would ever recommend that. That is a dumbo answer. Chlorinated water could set one up for Brest damage and/or a breast infection which you do NOT want.to happen.

You have exhaustion and low energy which happens with most at the 2nd week. One may get progressively more tired after that. Rest is important.

It doesn’t say that you were put on a. Aromatase Inhibitor either before or after surgery or during radiation.
Letrozole can cause plantar fasciitis.

Some women are tired for a month to 1 1/2 months after radiation.

See your Internist and get a referral for PT for a PT to do an assessment appointment. Ask if they could give you some exercises that you can do on your own til you can go to PT.

It may take two weeks to get a PT appointment.

It can take 3 months or more to heal from plantar fasciitis.

Tell your radiation oncologist that you have this

Fatigue halfway through radiation is really common β€” you're doing great to keep going! The good news is that there are ways to manage it even when walking is painful.

Fatigue halfway through radiation is really common β€” you're doing great to keep going! The good news is that there are ways to manage it even when walking is painful.

Since walking isn't easy right now, here are some gentler movement options to help with fatigue:

- Seated stretches or light chair yoga
- Short, slow movements around your home β€” even a few minutes counts
- Swimming or water movement if accessible (check with your doctor first)

The key is gentle movement without overdoing it β€” rest is just as important as activity. Beyond movement, here are other ways to tackle fatigue:

- Stay hydrated β€” dehydration can make fatigue significantly worse
- Eat small, protein-rich meals β€” smoothies, soups, and protein drinks are easy options
- Rest without guilt β€” balance any activity with proper recovery time
- Track your energy levels daily and share them with your care team

As one MyBCTeam member wisely said, *"When friends and family offer help, take it. You are busy fighting for your life."*

Definitely let your doctor know about both the fatigue and your foot pain β€” they may be able to refer you to a physical therapist who can help with both.

Hi Lorraine- hope you find something that works for you, I still have my brace handy for those bouts! Catching it early seems to work best for me. There was nothing special about the brace, I got it years ago from CVS. Not the most comfortable- but still way better than those first few steps in the morning, where I had to compose myself by the time I got to the bed footpost!! hugs!
