Bimcada, isn't it nice we can google things and find out about ourselves. That's how I found out about the abdominal lymphedema. That's when I got on here and asked if anyone else had this or heard of it. I'm glad we are discussing it. I see my oncologist next Tuesday and that is going to be my first question.🙂

Hi Nina15:

Thank you so much for posting this on breast lymphedema.

Did you have any scar tissue and did they do any laser therapy? Did they do blue or red light laser therapy?
Did they do cupping?

Would everyone who sees this click on both icons, including the heart so this gets more traction and people signed up to different teams see this.

We are all in little groups of small teams who do not see all the topics.

So many do not know that they have lymphedema or breast lymphedema and are in the dark on this as oncology doctors stare and examine your breast and say nothing....

This topic is so important.

Terry7, I wonder why they don't want to talk about it. If it is part of the journey then they should tell us and not let us find out about it online. I will be asking my doctor this Tuesday and if he tells me anything useful I will share it. Hang in there and we will find an answer.

You must be your own advocate ladies.I did a lot of the leg work my self, regarding, chemo rash, open area at radiation site, lymphedema management.I got the appointments on my own, believe me that is the last thing I wanted to do, but I am the patient and I know what needs to be done, but sometimes the system is broken.Thank goodness I am in the nursing field and have some connections.I know not everyone can do that....so please ask questions and follow your first instinct.
Take care of yourself,Lisa

Well said! Unfortunately we do have to become experts ourselves! Our healthcare system has deteriorated a lot over several decades. Whatever the reasons for that, the burden is placed on us, to find the best care for ourselves. It’s just the reality we live in today. Fortunately with todays technology, we have access to a lot of information and resources that did not exist for patients 30 years ago. I’m a firm believer in researching as much as we can ourselves. We can’t just settle for what one doctor’s opinion is anymore. There are so many stories here about how women self diagnosed themselves or pushed for tests, when no one else did.
