How did you fix this? Massage therapy?
Did anything else help?

What is the relationship you have with gabapentin and edema? Is it being offered as a treatment? Do you think it is causing edema? I take gabapentin for nerve pain from neuropathy and for sciatica from a partially herniated disc. Sciatica is causing me considerable pain and difficulty walking, although “powering through” that and continuing walking and other activities actually improves it. But you have to sleep sometimes. I need to take 400 mg of gabapentin to subdue the pain, and, as most responding have noted, it is extremely sedating. So I can only take it at night. I also have lymphedema. I take hydrochlorothiazide for that. It works astonishingly well for me. It is a diuretic used to treat high blood pressure (which I also have). It doesn’t work on edema for everyone, and it can deplete potassium levels significantly, so I’m on a prescription potassium supplement. You don’t need to have high blood pressure to take it, and subduing the edema only requires a 25 mg per day dose.

MY Body is very very drug sesitive so I am having to go to more natural ways to combat the Femara drug that I was only on for 2 weeks.. It shocked my body and I went to a Naturalpath Oncologist with 30 years experience to work with my Allopathic Oncologist at the Mayo Clinic .
Each of our bodies react differently I will never tell another that they shouldn't take this or that I can only share what has worked for mine . I was on gabapentin for a week once and also could not get out of bed to get to work .... DRUGS are not my friends....I take what I have to for the shortest time possible . BTW he has asked me to up my intake to 20mg of Meletonion and add a few other supplements Not many as this is overloading my system . I went to him with a bag of Supplements and he just laughed and I left not with but just a few of what I had been given .I feel that we have enough going on in our bodies not to overload it .....

I was taking gabapentin 3 times a day for quite a while for neuropathy. Went doen to 2x a day then once. I began to take Alpha Lipoic Acid 2x a day on empty stomach… good research out there for it to help with neuropathy. Its better. At least i can button my shirts, etc now. Still have to be careful with hot temps though.

Maybe the message therapies can help. Also I read some where also over stimulating your lympnodes can cause problems also by touching them etc. There's really no correct answer to this question. You try to put out one fire and other one starts.

I was taking Gabapentin for months before I was dx with BC. I was taking it for back pain and for a hamstring injury that made it very painful to sit. I only take it at night just before bedtime and I find that it helps me sleep. So far I've had no problems with it.
