Hi JanieH, I was on H/P and tolerated well. After surgery pathology indicated small amount of residual cancer in tumor, my onc recommended Kadcyla. She said it is a better option for me than H/P. Her concern is the potential side effect of neuropathy in extremities. (Especially concerning since I have lingering neuropathy from my chemo treatments). She says if it starts to get worse, we will switch back to H/P. I've had 3 of 14 treatments. So far, neuropathy is not better but also not worse. Next treatment is July 19 and plan is to also start Anastrozole at that time.

I didn’t think you could get Kadcyla without having Herceptin first. Everything I have read about doesn’t seem great and the statistics aren’t good enough for me to want to try it. The side effects seem worse than Herceptin as well but Herceptin and Perjeta were really easy for me. I didn’t have any issues and I don’t doubt it saved my life.

@A MyBCTeam Member January 18, 2018 was my last Herceptin/Perjeta. I was stage 1 Grade 3 no lymph node involvement. I found my lump in between mammograms.
