The first symptom I had the first week was bone pain in my knees.,That goes away if you walk and most of the time I don’t get it ( as long as you walk). My hair started coming out after maybe two or three months, about 20%. I used minoxidil for that and it works.
I never got hot flashes and only got a little dizzy one time, in the first month. The hair loss can come back as I’m going through that again now.,
Very manageable and tolerated.
Good luck💕

Have been on it for more than six years. Tylenol and duloxetine help with joint pain issues. I have just learned to live with hip and knee pain. Keep
Loving and hydrate daily.
You’ve got this!

Starting Anastrozole can indeed bring a mix of feelings, and it's great that you're reaching out for experiences. While I can't share personal stories, I can provide some insights based on common experiences:

- **Common Side Effects**: Many people taking Anastrozole experience side effects like hot flashes, joint pain, weakness, and mood swings. It's also noted that Anastrozole can lead to increased cholesterol levels and osteoporosis, which is a condition that weakens bones.

- **Managing Side Effects**: For joint pain, staying active and engaging in gentle exercise might help. Hot flashes might be managed by dressing in layers or using a fan. It's important to discuss these side effects with your doctor, as they can offer tailored advice or adjustments to your treatment plan.

- **Monitoring**: Regular check-ups are crucial. Your doctor will likely monitor your bone health due to the risk of osteoporosis and may recommend supplements or lifestyle changes to help protect your bones.

- **Community Support**: Many find it helpful to connect with others going through similar experiences. Platforms like MyBCTeam provide a space to share tips, support, and personal stories about living with breast cancer and treatments like Anastrozole.

Remember, your healthcare team is there to support you through this journey, so keeping open communication about how you're feeling is key.
