I am glad someone else wrote about this. Why is Letrozole only dosed is 2.5 mg? I asked the oncologist pharmacist this question and they said the studies on breast cancer recurring were done with the 2.5 mg. If you google it, there are all kinds of issues with this (steroid use). I'd like to take half a dose or 1 month on, 1 month off. I do not like the joint pain and my hair has not come back fully and I blame the medicine.

Am I the only one who refuses to take 3 more drugs to counteract the effects of Arimidex? When I mention the bone aches, fatigue, osteopenia, it's suggested I take 3 more pills to handle the side effects. No! I'm otherwise healthy. Honestly, two days a week I don't take it At least that way I can manage the fatigue. I too wonder about the dosage and why we all take the same dose. It's making me feel old. Thoughts, anyone?

I have been asking and googling this question for the last 4 months...I am wiling to take Arimidex to starve off any errant BC cells but I only want to take the minimal necessary to try and preserve my bones etc and not suffer all the SE which may make me want to quit the drug. My Oncologist just says 'those are what the studies were done with, one dose regardless of woman's size etc' which is crazy because of course the drug companies (who fund the studies and much of oncologist compensation) want us to take more drug than we need! Same story for how long to take the drug..5 years and now maybe 10 years! Yes, of course the drug companies want us to buy their drugs as long as possible! $$$ What makes sense to me is for me to take as much as I need to keep my estrogen levels low (test via blood)...but cannot find a doctor to support this or give me any real answers.

I have a new doctor. She plugged in my tumor size, lymph node info and oncotype number into Predictx (?) and I have only one more percent of getting cancer again if I stop the Femara. I stopped the Femara 2 was ago because of joint pain( changed my diet to being vegan) and was trying to get back to exercise. I fell off my bike when I was trying to park it (stupid accident) and fractured my elbow and wrist. I have osteoporosis due to the drug!!! Anyhow, I am glad to be off all the drugs. Unfortunately, I teach 3D art and figuring out how to use one arm-but it is not breast cancer!!

You want to hear a joke? (I hope its a joke) My ex was told he might develop little breasts and a belly cuz he is on male hormone blocker for prostate cancer. So my joke is this: My ex will turn into a woman and I will turn into a man from Femara my hormone blocker. HAHAHAHAHA
