My wife took tamoxifen for 3 years and stopped as she couldn't stand the side effects.
Most patients complain about hormone treatments.
I cannot advise you to take it or not to take it. You have to discuss that with your doctor.
But I have strong reservations about hormone treatments for breast cancer and how much benefit do they actually provide.

So sorry! I meant 3 - 2.5 mg per week. I refused to take daily due to side effects despite oncologist saying I needed to take daily. Stopped when I developed a dry cough that went 4 months. I disagreed with lowering estrogen to zero, also felt neuropathy was getting worse.
As far as estrone checked in November test shows < 10.0, estriol was < 0.02. I typed first message from memory you would think I would know better to put any trust in my memory!
I do take Brocolite, which is sulphoraphane which is supposed to help, but please Google, not trusting my memory on those specifics now. I tolerate that well.
I'm sorry for my previous errors, ill make sure I check before I say. I have test result in front of me now.
If I had taken 3 Letrozol a day I would probably be in prison now.🙂
@A MyBCTeam Member, thanks for sharing your journey. My breast cancer was hormone driven and I decided at the start I wasn't subjecting myself to hormone treatments as the side effects just aren't worth it imo. I do a variety of things from diet to taking supplements (my naturopath sent me magnolia extract (honokiol) to tackle hormones naturally among others. It's definitely a very personal decision everyone needs to make.
@A MyBCTeam Member gosh <02. That is just a little below the <6.0 - 54.7 level for postmenopausal woman. I will be having mine checked again this month after my Natera test on Thursday. My level is 217.0 very high, but I really don't know if this is high for me or not since I have never been tested for estrogen levels before cancer or even during cancer. It may have lowered since my mastectomy January 2025. Who knows! I think my natera test will give me a good idea if I have a tumor growing as high levels of estrogen suggest tumor activity.
@A MyBCTeam Member I defiantly will reconsider the Anastrozole. I already sent my lab test to Dr Makis and will be making a appointment with my family doctor today for more testing. These estrogen levels are way to high for me to not take further steps. Thank you for thinking of me and sending me this article ❤️
