I highly recommend the Amoena bra.
I have the Linda one.
It doesn’t hurt under the armpits and no seams.
I am a work in progress as still working on breast lymphedema, fibrosis and cording again at the 4 year mark….
I had armpit lymph node dissection with 2nd bout of breast cancer and can't tolerate anything that's snug in the armpit now. Even after my original mastectomy I would get muscle spasms if clothes cut in to my armpit area, but snug was ok back then. I think what's important is not to have seams rubbing on your incisions and for the bra to feel comfortable, or at a bare minimum tolerable, while you are wearing it. While you are still healing it is more important to have some sort of bra that offers support without having an underwire. Underwires are a no no. Once you are fully healed it's not as critical to wear a bra if you don't want to .
It sounds like you're asking whether your bra should sit high under your arm — great question, especially after breast cancer surgery!
