There is really nothing in the database to select a male or female category.
No one was asked this question when we joined.
The information doesn’t exist.
This is a small fix to help out males with BC who really do not have a support group anywhere on the Internet or in local groups in their cities.
Also, any males would never find this I. Groups.
Newbies may not find groups for awhile.
So, how do the few males find this group when they join????
If you go to the bottom of the Groups page there is a link to suggest a group. I did it, requesting that a group be set up for male breast cancer members specifically. I have been reading a lot of articles lately on male breast cancer but didn't have the specific group to share them.
What a thoughtful and important question — advocating for male breast cancer patients to have better visibility and support is truly meaningful. Male breast cancer is rare, which makes finding community even harder.

I have sent a message tagging the Community Manager Ashley as to the apparent absence of the Gender Filter on the MyBCTeam. Sometimes other Teams have additional features (usually a roll-out to see how things work- and then expanded to other Teams). I have also suggested the Groups addition.
We do have a male member MichaelJCoffey that I have tagged in that conversation, in hopes that Wsykes and Michael can connect. As well as to show Ashley that these members really do need a way to find each other more easily.
