I am taking Letrazole for my hormone therapy . I have been exercising and trying to eat right and have actually lost weight . But I have not been on it quite three months . My hair has been thinning since I started getting older so losing my hair is one of my concerns . Also I have learned that there is usually weight gain . My question is when did these symptoms start for others on Letrazole . Thank you for any advice you can give me .

Good advice from BB2, I would add that the D3 needs to be taken with K2 as the K2 deposits, the calcium directly into your bones instead of other organs in your body. They come together in one pill.
Patsy, Im entering 6 months of being on Letrozole. Here is my experience so far. Keep in mind that side effects vary from person to person. Some folks dont get side effects. Hair thinning.. mine started about 30 days in and visible particularly on my hairline. I am massaging my hair with Amla and coconut oil ( traditional in my Indo Asian background) Ive also been shampooing with Rosemary shampoo from Aveda. Seems to help.
Insomnia started right away. I drink Oat Straw(Avena Sativa) tea. Its a nervine and that has worked for me. I also take my pill at the same time every night 8:30pm.
Joint paint- I experience joint pain on the days that I haven't walked or exercised. I am taking Calcium with D3 as a supplement. I also drink lots of lemon balm tea to help with any joint pain.
I haven't experienced weight gain so far. Also only about 13 -27 % of women on Letrozole gain weight. A big chunk of women dont.
Thankfully this has been manageable so far for me.
All the best to you.
Fishwife, very good information and advice. You are so right that we have to be proactive about our health. We are all different so its important that we try different things to find what works best for us as individuals.Have a wonderful memorial day weekend.
Sadly, I’d lost 30 pounds prior to initial diagnosis. All the treatments caused that weight to come back on. I’m nine years out from the beginning of this journey and finally starting to lose a bit of weight again. During this time I’ve been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s (started as just hypothyroidism which was caused by damage to thyroid during radiation) and non-alcoholic fatty liver. The thing to keep in mind is that the lack of estrogen does a number on our bodies, including thyroid, liver and adrenals. Ironically the medication we take to help us survive this damn disease can cause other issues.
I don’t say this to frighten you or others but rather to give you information. Learning how estrogen (or lack of) can impact my body has helped me make decisions on care for my health and whether to “panic” or not. Since I can’t do HRT, I have to consider other options. Believe it or not, since learning about the liver aspect of my health journey, I have started doing a 2x/wk liver lymphatic routine (Eligned on YouTube-free!!!) and I started losing weight!!! Nothing too extreme just something to help my liver work better (and hopefully lose the fattiness). But yes, I’m losing weight. To be honest, I also do strength training and cardio but wasn’t losing weight with it, but when I added on the liver lymphatic routine (20 minutes 2x/wk), things shifted. No other changes to my medications, my diet (I’m gluten free and try to stay away from processed foods and sugars) except adding the focus on my liver. Oh, and I also found a liver yoga workout through Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube (free!!!).
So, I share this because I’m hoping you don’t have to wait nine years before you figure out what your body needs and instead be proactive in your health moving forward.
BB2 there are other brands but I’ll include a pic of the one I use. My good friend had a health food store and recommended this brand.
