It's totally normal. For me, my chest never felt like it did pre-mastecomy because of all the nerve and muscle damage plus tons of scar tissue I developed. If you have nerve damage you may see some improvement over time, but you will probably end up with spots that never regain full feeling and have lasting numbness. Unfortunately having a mastectomy, which is essentially a breast amputation, wreaks a ton of carnage to your chest, and it will never be, feel, or look the same again.

I had my nerves removed, I think cause there is still no feeling. It is just skin over 5 ribs on one side and 3 on the over side.

Yes, normal- and I had the Zaps! as I called them- they felt like sudden electrical shocks- for several months. Gradually, they lessened in frequency and intensity. I had areas of numbness but that also improved over time. I did aesthetic flat closure, so it definitely looks different, but I do have feeling throughout, now. Still no regrets about my choice, as so many good things have happened in the 7 years since surgery that I otherwise may have not been here to enjoy! Hugs!
