The area is tender & has a burning sensation & still quite tight despite regularly doing my exercises & Pilates. I also keep up with moisturising & massaging the tissue.
I would just like to know if this is normal. When I Google the subject it does say it takes a ‘long time’ but it would be nice to have an idea of what means long. I expect I just have to be more patient.
I'm only 3 months out and had a serious hematoma that required immediate emergency surgery. The entire right side of my boob is still black and blue and sore. Opposite side of my tumor site🤔All dr.s said it will take time to heal because of compromised immunity. My lymphedema PT started doing massage and taught me how to do at home. Radiation oncologist said he was fine with massage as long as skin wasn't broken and it didn't irritate my skin. It's a long long road.💕
My breast needed a full yr t0 heal. My arm still hurts a lot (bc had spread to my lymph nodes in my left armpit). Don't be afraid to ask for pain pills.
AngelaFreary, I am 6 months post lumpectomy. The Mammogram was painful for a week. Dr said scar tissue was reason & it would take 2 years to heal. It is painful to touch and bra touching or certain arm movements.
Radiation Oncologist said not to massage, since it was not plastic surgery related. My scarring takes a long time to heal anyway. More waiting!! Blessings.
I feel you. Eventually, I caved as well. But they help so, so much
Thanks Michaela. Have to admit that I’m not very good at taking painkillers but must try harder as getting a bit fed up of feeling sore.
