I don't have TNBC, but I do get regular PET scans since I have breast and endometrial cancer and the cancers have returned 4 times now, 3 times with the endometrial and 1 time with the breast. I get PET scans every 3 months and have been since September 2021. Since then I haven't made it over a year without cancer returning somewhere which is why I get the scans so often. Don't be surprised if they want you to have scans every few months even after you finish your chemo. PET scans don't show active cancer if it's just a few cells or it's still really small. Typically with the different chemos used for different types of cancer there will be a set amount of treatments they want you to get. If your 4 chemo treatments in on an 8 round chemo regimen there's an excellent chance that even though you've had a clear PET scan they will want to continue your chemo treatments to up the odds that all the cancer cells are killed off. I am TNBC, stage Ib. I had chemo first, AC and Taxol, that was standard of care at the time. Now it also includes Carboplatin and Pembrolizumab (immunotherapy for TNBC) weekly times 12 and AC with Pembro times 4. Same for stage 1, 2, 3 or 4
