Your fatigue isnt bad after chemo day,,,its hits literally 2-3 days after,, I had to quit my nursing job due to this
Hair loss around week 3. Peripheral neuropathy in your hands and feet. Amazon sells mittens and socks with ice inserts to help prevent. Very minimal nausea.
You should have a chemo teaching appointment with a nurse before.
No, the fatigue would hit a few days later. After chemo because of the steroids, I was wide awake and hungry for real food- I would not have had a problem driving,
Don't focus on the whole year. Focus first on the 12 weeks of chemo, Herceptin was part of my chemo cocktail, and yes, lots of side effects, but everything was manageable. Fatigue was the hardest of them for me- but since I was also working full time- that I am sure added to it.
Once the chemo was done, and protocols changed to Herceptin only- it was so much faster, and easier, and the side effects started correcting themselves.
Rest when your body tells you do, eat healthy, try to get some walking or other exercise daily (it is worth the effort!) and keep hydrating!! My side effects were always more challenging when I slacked off on getting my water in! Hugs!
Yes everything LauraAH said. I also had extreme exhaustion and digestive issues. When you’re tired, rest don’t push yourself. Small meals or light snacks helped me with stomach issues. Also drink plenty of fluids so you don’t get dehydrated. You’re going to do good. Good luck. Big hugs
