Seeing my Dentist again, just having gums and mouth checked cause I'm on zometa, being cautious
@A MyBCTeam Member If you're getting zometa infusions every month please be aware of the long term use. It can cause serious bone damage to your jawbones, causing necrosis of the bone. I am facing jaw surgery because if 1 year of infusions. It caused a 3cm crack and now that part is dead. I'll have to have surgery in a hospital under general anesthesia now. They'll remove the dead piece of bone and debris the area, do a bone graft and pack it with my own stem cells and close it. Get your teeth and any dental problems taken care of first. Once you start zometa you can't have any dental work done. Sorry to be so graphic but you need to know this. My oral surgeon told me that zometa stays in my body for years! Good luck. π€πππ»
