I decided to keep it in. Till I’m done with keytruda. Thanks everyone
That said, I don’t see a reason to take it out sooner either. I think it’s much easier than having your veins in the arms poked…
It is an incision, and so we do have to give it time to heal. Mine was a little itchy- but as long as I did not let myself get too hot and sweaty, it was ok. For those times I would forget, some Tylenol, or Benedryl with a cold pack- and I was good to go.
I am the weirdo tho- lol! I asked about keeping mine- I am a hard one for them to do blood draws on- especially on the non-surgical side because of not being able to straighten that arm. But keeping it would mean coming back every 4-6 weeks just to get it flushed- and I doubted insurance would cover that- lol! So, out it came. Hugs!
It is an incision- so it will be achy- but Tylenol took care of that! Good Luck!
My port made getting all the labs and infusions so much easier, I had approval to get mine out the end of January 2020, but waited and scheduled it for Spring Break so I would not have to take any additional time off for healing.
