I had chemo, radiation and surgery. I don't regret any of them as I am still here today. The radiation pretty much destroyed my tumor. I did have a small burn, but it was worth it. When they did the lumpectomy, there was pretty much nothing left of the tumor but dust. I would do it again if I had to.

I don't regret any of my treatment. Chemo, radiation or surgery. It was all done to help kill the cancer and that was my end result.

Hello. My cancer treatment is chemotherapy, surgery then 30 rounds of radiation. Surgery is July 30. I'm very anxious about this and the long radiation treatment ( each 5 days a week for 6 weeks), after few weeks healing from surgery. Any words?

I had just the one tumor, no lymph node involvement HER2+.
My mastectomy (flat closure) allowed me to skip radiation. Had I done the lumpectomy- radiation would be part of the protocols. Also, it they had spared skin for reconstruction, I would have needed radiation. Even with the mastectomy, had there not been clear margins, radiation would have been added. So, basically, there is a lot of variables they consider in determining whether radiation is part of the protocols. Keeping you in prayers! Hugs!
