I have decided to follow my drs recommendations. I'm stage 11A onco score 40 grade 3 IDC. Currently in treatment. It is scary reading of the recurrence others are experiencing.

I followed all my dr recommendations which were surgery, chemo, rads and 9 years on Letrozole AI. Now 10 years since original Dx in November 2014. Still think about recurrence at times but rest in the knowledge that I did everything possible to prevent it and with all the new treatments being developed, I could even live 5 or more years with MBC. Since I am 67, that’s not a bad thing.

I had the same questions - my onco score was 27 - struggled with whether to get chemo or not but wound up getting it. I decided that because IF I had recurrence, at least I wont' regret not doing everything I could've done. Wish you the best! 🙏

I read here a lot about women who had double mastectomies, radiation and chemo and take Maintenace drugs and still got recurrences. Its awful how persistent and sinister this disease is. But as @A MyBCTeam Member pointed out I think if a woman does everything and finds it came back she won't have to second guess her decisions to have done it all. Especially early-stage cancers. If I did everything the first time and it came back, I think that would be the point where I wouldn't do it all again ❤️I wish you the absolute best as you move through your radiation treatments @A MyBCTeam Member .

As I am triple negative, chemo is the only treatment, so I did not have an Onco type done. With an Onco type I would have chemo, no hesitation.
Wishing you well!
