“Research suggests the use of calcium and vitamin D supplements may reduce the risk of cancer deaths in postmenopausal women but may also increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.
Calcium and vitamin D supplements are often recommended for postmenopausal women to prevent bone loss.
Experts say the research should be interpreted with caution and women should discuss with their doctor whether they should take supplements.“
I'm beginning to think no matter what you do is going to cause problems in some kind of form. You just do what is right for you and you won't be that hamster or mouse running in that stupid wheel and not really going any where with your life. Life is to short as it is so make the best of it while you can. Studies are only that studies. Any study can also be manipulate into what ever good or bad result that fits their purpose. Breathe Breathe, and live live before its to late.
LOL @A MyBCTeam Member I have never in my life lived around with what I should or shouldn't do. One yr butter is no good then a few years later its okay, then salt is no good and then thats not too bad, sugar does this, eating fat does that. Yadda yadda yadda. Just freaking enjoy whatever we want and if people are health conscience then do it in moderation . ❤️
I give up. Everything we take to help one thing causes another. I'm just going to take what my doctor prescribes and stop worrying about every little thing. I'm 79. I'll be 80 in December of this year. I'm going to die of something eventually. All of this back and forth about what to do to live longer is making me tired.
It staggers my mind. Every time a new study is reported. Now it’s calcium that is bad for you. If you quit doing everything that is reported or you started doing everything that is reported you would never have consistency. I can say three doses of Prolia increased my bone density by 15%. I will continue with this course of treatment. I was pre-osteopenia. The one thing that gives me comfort is my faith. God knew the day I was born he’s not gonna change the day that I die and go to heaven, in the meantime, I will do what I feel is best for me. I will continue to put trust in my healthcare team. I will live my life the best I can.
Is there anything we can do to help one issue that doesn't cause another? This is maddening ! The way I weigh those pros and cons, I rather take the risk and take D3 to prevent bone loss because if I lose my bones and wind up crippled I won't need a working heart. Why are supplements the problem and not a problem if you gets lots of D from the sun and foods?
