Since being on tamoxifen, I have had three hand surgeries. The two for carpal tunnel syndrome, I had been putting off for years. The one for trigger thumb was new.
Breast cancer treatments can indeed cause joint pain, including in the hands. This pain can manifest as:
- Stiffness in the morning
- Joint tenderness
- Joint swelling or discoloration
- Warm feeling around the joint

I had it in all fingers and thumbs. So bad that I've had surgery twice on both hands. And afterwards I ended up having deqiervain surgery on both wrist. .. Trigger finger was repaired now I have severe arthritis in all my fingers and have to wear compression gloves now. And I soak in hot water when I first wake up daily.
That's my story. Everyone is different though
Yes…I developed it in my ring finger. Along with the estrogen blocker I also stressed that finger by pulling weeds. I had a cortisone injection, which provided temporary relief. So now I sleep with a finger brace. I’ve switched meds and I notice my finger is getting stuck again. If injections don’t resolve the issue there is a surgery to release the tendon from getting hung up. I’m hoping to avoid that if possible.
