Yes, you can use a wedge pillow in your bed for comfort after a double mastectomy. According to the knowledge base, many members have found wedge pillows helpful for getting semi-comfortable and improving sleep during recovery. One member shared, “I’ve used a chair wedge pillow for two months after mastectomy surgery so I’m more comfortable.” You can also consider other types of pillows, such as a neck pillow or a heart-shaped mastectomy pillow, to prop your arm up and away from your body.

I had double mastectomy in December and have used a wedge and it worked great for me.

I used a recline and pillows propping me up in bed. The best purchase I made was the mastectomy pillow. I found the best pricing on Amazon. I used it bed, actually all of the time. I had a bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction.

I used wedge pillows. Worked great. I liked still being able to share the bed with my husband.

Absolutely, I have a recliner- and that was great, but several women have used pillows to prop up. I would have still had to sleep in the chair because I am such a serious side sleeper, being in the chair kept me more upright and kept the pressure off the incision site. Wishing you every success with your procedure!!
