Someone suggested that I could stop the anastrozole for 2 weeks then start it again to help alleviate the side effects....has anyone else tried that?

They say that the side effects decrease within a year if you can work through it. There are a couple others that you maybe able to try that might work better for you. I understand what your saying, believe me but the alternative of it coming back.....that's a non-starter for me

I did talk to her..she said I could try it... but I really wanted to know if any one else tried this approach. It's supposed to help 🤷 but who knows. I don't want to feel like this forever.

I have RA also and I was in so much pain , I couldn't do anything but cry. My RA had not bothered me for yrs.i wasn't on any treatment for RA , I didn't need it. Then when I started Anastrazole I started having so much pain I didn't know if my RA was flaring up or it was side effects from Anastrazole. I called my oncologist and told him I was in so much pain I'm crying and have appointment with Ruematologist next week. He told me quit taking the Anastrazole for a month and see if there's a difference . That was February 21st. The pain in my hands did not change but the bone achiness in my legs eased up, hair loss decreased fatigue less. My Rhumatologist said even though my RA hasn't bothered me for a long time the cancer stirs up other autoimmune factors. My hands and fingers are swollen and red , she said the RA definitely has flared up , I can't bend my fingers to make a fist they're so swollen. I told her my oncologist told me to quit taking the Anastrazole for a month to see if it's RA or Anastrazole. She said she likes what he suggested. So she wrote a prescription for predazone and Thank God the pain is easing up.
I'm not sure if I want to start back on the Antrazole. It made my legs feel like my bones were being crushed.
I hope this helps, but I wouldn't stop without the advice of my oncologist.

I am sorry you are having issues. I have been on it since 2/16/23 and have not seen really any issues. A little restless leg but if I continue to stretch and walk this seems to go away. If it bothers, you too bad let your oncologist know and there are other things you can take. Wishing you the best. Terry
