I was diagnosed HR2 Positive (October 2016) left breast. Went through 6 months of chemo, lumphetomy (excuse spelling), and radiation (daily six weeks). 5 lympnodes removed (2 cancerous, 3 margins clear no cancer). Took Nerlynx for a year. Occasional diarrhea.

Mammagrams have been fine. Next one January. Have these feelings sometimes in my breast. Doctor says normal. They cut through so much tissue.

Other things going on. Too much to discuss, but I'm alive and thankful for all the medical science and knowledge God has given man. Also, know I'm blessed to have insurance. Only had to pay $10.00 a month for Nerlynx. As you well know, it cost $12,000 a month. Not taking any medicine now.

We all wonder whether our cancer will return but I’m thinking positive and not worrying about it. If it does I’ll face it then. My cousin had Stage 4 with 16 Lymph nodes removed 18yrs. ago and has never looked back. She told me stay positive and don’t look back so that’s what I’m doing. Prayers to you. You’ve got this.

I was offered Nerlynx but turned it down. The most common side effect is chronic diarrhea= and since I already have Crohns (but enjoying a legendary remission) I was worried I would wake a sleeping tiger! The oncologist agreed that given the minimal benefit for me, it was a reasonable move to skip that. My diagnosis was HER2+ Stage 2, Grade 3. I finished chemo, over 4 years ago- and so far, so good. The sad reality of a cancer diagnosis is that we carry that anxiety with us regarding its return. We just learn (and practice) whatever techniques that bring us calm. Cancer has already taken enough from us, we should (and deserve to) enjoy the life we fought for! Hugs!
