I didn't do chemo, so my information is based on research and other blogs, since before I knew that I wouldn't need it I did check into it and decided I would not do it. They pretty much freeze your head, so they can cause severe head aches. Also, they only reduce hair loss, so your hair will still thin. You would need to use baby shampoo and not wash your hair more than a couple of times a week. The way I figured it is that chemo is so uncomfortable that adding one more thing that might make the pain worse didn't seem worth it, especially since the results are not guaranteed. There are wigs out there that might look nice though and a comfortable cap. The one thing that I did hear, that I would have tried though is keep your hands and feet very cold during chemo. Chemo kills fast moving cells, cold slows down the cells movement, so that is why the cold caps help with the hair. The same theory works with neuropathy, or so I read. That an an aspirin to help reduce the chemo brain problem. Good luck.

I used it too and also kept most of my hair. I lost a lot 3 weeks after my first chemo (but my hair was very thick to start so it didnt really show) but then it slowed right down.

You might want to check out this blog about the benefits of using ice for hands and feel to prevent neuropathy. Like I said, I don't have any personal experience, but it seems plausible. https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/69/top...
