Ever since I started Letrozole/Femara 5 months ago, I notice cold flashes, where the top right of my head feels chilled. In the beginning, it wasn't even every day. The last two weeks, I notice I have this every day, throughout the day. Talked to my care team at the cancer center and they said without other symptoms, we will just watch it, but that it was good I let them know about the change in frequency.
Now you ladies have me concerned they gave me a placebo or something! Are there different strengths of Letrazole? I'm taking 2.5mg/day and it's the only drug I'm taking and I've had zero side effects. My joint pain started before I ever started taking it (2 months prior)
I consider myself extremely lucky after reading what some of you experience with it.
I get hot flashes and (I call them) cold flashes. I bundle up and then within a few minutes I'm fine.
@RoaeannDT. I have been on Letrazole since October 15th ('15)
@A MyBCTeam Member - so sorry you are having those problems. You need to go back and kick the assisants butt if he doesn't help you. He works for you and needs to get this straightened out. You can ask to try a different pill - there are at least three if you are post-menopausal. I was on anastrozole to start and it was HORRIBLE for me. Constant hip and bone pain. No pain meds helped. He put me on exemestane and it was much better. I just need a pain reliever to help me function better. He prescribed 500 mg naproxen DR and I take that twice a day. This is the most "normal" I've felt in a long time!! Don't give up because the doctor/assisants/whoever is being an ass. Tell them what is happening and to help you or go somewhere else!! Hugs!!
@Zfighter I had symptoms on the top of the back of my head I 'm not sure I would call them cold flashes. They were more like warm sensation's and pain which I also have a nogule there too. I ended up having
a brain Mri it turned out ok. This was last Oct...I still-have some sensation's although they are not hot or warm maybe alittle to the lukewarm to coolish feeling.
Sometimes it's a numbing feeling.
I think it could be stress related . Have a good weekend!
