I was also put on tamoxifen after my chemo and radiation and double mastectomy and the side effects were awful so I stopped taking it and was never put on anything else and my cancer was estrogen related and stage 3. I never did find out why I wasn't put on anything else but luckily it worked im 21 years cancer free but everyone is different and should stop anything without their doctor knowing it

Rita I was stage 3 and it was in 2 of my lymph nodes and your right tamoxifen is horrible

Stop taking it immediately! It causes strokes and another survivor said her sister almost dies from the side effects.

I too got three clots/pulmonary embolism to my lungs that could have killed me. They heal but leave some damage nothing you will notice. Get off the tamoxifen it will kill you before the cancer will. Their are alternatives like Dim you can buy over the counter. Read this book Outsmart your cancer buy it online at Barnes and Nobel so you will have more information before making the choice to stop. I did and I now feel normal again and do what I could do before the cancer but please read this first and get all the facts.I will say your doctor will not agree but it is your life.
