Last fall I found a "dent" on the right side of my right breast. I knew that was a sign so went in for my annual check up and told my doc. From there it went quickly, 3d mammo, ultrasound, biopsy and lumpectomy in Nov. Today is my last rad session, and will meet w/onc soon to talk about starting Femara. DIMplus is a pill that is made up of lots of vegetables that are packed full of antioxidants!!! So, if you dont like cooking and eating them, this will give you the benefits!!!
I have weighed the side effects of herceptin, femara, arimidex, and tamoxifen and have decided because they cant seem to put a % on recurrance, (only slows down production), I want the quality not the quantity. I am going with more diet changes, lots of exercise, and the DIM-plus!!!
What I have learned from my oncologist is this: if you take the oral meds, tamoxifin, arimadex etc, your or the percentages for reoccurance in one or both breasts as well as metastasis in another area are reduced by 40 percent or in other words from now after mastectomy and chemo for me from 10 percent to 4-6 percent which equates to how he come up with 40 percent. That is my understanding, for the doctors the percentages are very significant for them. Hope this helps a little.
