It depends on whether you've been through menopause. I'm taking Aromasin because I've already been through menopause. The side effects have been minimal and have not caused me any debilitating problems. I think Tamoxifin is the other drug. I'm ER+ PR+ and HER 2 - I finished chemo in October 2012 and finished radiation the week after Thanksgiving. I decided that this cancer took almost a year of my life and I'm not going to be a victim to it any longer!

I will be 60 in June and had a hestorectomy in my early 30s.. I have one more chemo treatment to go and then start radiation.

I’m on anestrozole. Post menopausal. Will take for five years. No side effects except a little weight gain and hot flash now and then. I had bilateral, stage 1, HR2 positive breast cancer. 4 months of chemo every three weeks, 15 sessions of radiation and then a few weeks of immunotherapy infusion.

I have had menopause, yet I was still advised Tamoxifen for 10 years.
