I was on Arimidex for 3 months before the side effects started and they were very intolerable. My oncologist switched me to Aromasin and have been on that for 4 months with same side effects (muscle/bone/joint pain) but not as severe as with the Arimidex. I also started taking Magnesium and Osteo Biflex along with Aleve on a daily basis. Not sure if that is what is making Aromasin more tolerable for me or if it is just the change of the drug itself.

I was on arimidex for 8 months before I had side effects that became not very tolerable. Then I tried femara for a couple of weeks and now I've been on aromasin for over 2 years. It's much more tolerable for me. However everyone reacts differently and one will be better than another for different people.

That varies from person to person. One of my drs told me if I absolutely could not tolerate the Arimidex, I would know in less than a month. Otherwise some changes in other meds can help and changing the time of day you take it can make a difference. I'm 2 months in and have a few issues, but so far nothing extreme.
