I have continued low hemoglobin levels every 3-4 months that require transfusions. My hemoglobin is 7-8. I have been done with my treatments for years.

It takes quite awhile cause they can't go too fast. If I remember correctly the day I had the two bags was at least 6 hours.

How long did your transfusions take?

Yes, I had transfusions on two separate occasions - once with one bag and the second time I had 2 bags. I felt so much better after. It was very effortless as well.

I had a transfusion when my hemoglobin was at 7. It did not interfere with my treatment and was easy peasy. It took about 6 hours though, which stunk. About 4 days later I started to feel so much better! I got some color in my face and energy back. The transfusion raised my level to 10 and it held there until after I finished chemo. Good luck and if you have to have a transfusion don't be afraid!
