Next week I start Taxotere and Cytoxan. I am only getting 4 rounds because there was no lymph node involvement.
@A MyBCTeam Member I had the same treatment followed by 30 radiation and now taking Aromasin for 5 years. I had chemo treatments 3 weeks apart so I did have a few good days before I had to start again. My hair started to fall out 2 weeks after my first treatment. I think the worst was how dry my mouth got after chemo. No matter how much water I drank my mouth was dry. Good luck with chemo.
That's exactly what I had--bilateral mastectomy then 4 rounds of t/c now tamoxifin. No need for radiation. It wasn't that bad--I didn't get peripheral neuropathy which I know is a problem for people who have more rounds of chemo. I also didn't get a port. Because I was only doing 4 rounds my oncologist thought my veins would hold up, and they did! It's over now, and I have a full head of hair--a cute pixie.
yes I am taking 4 rounds of chemo just finished my second round a week ago, had double mastectomy after having a lumpectomy 20 years ago
I know my Herceptin protocol seemed different than other women I spoke with but my oncologist explained that studies showed all of them equally effective. Ask your doctor about it.
