It sounds like you're asking about wire localization before your lumpectomy, and also about the dye injection for your lymph nodes β€” both are very standard parts of this type of surgery!

Wire localization (or sometimes a small seed/clip) is commonly used when a tumor is small or hard to feel, so your surgeon can pinpoint exactly where to remove it. It's a routine step to help ensure clean margins during surgery. The dye injection you mentioned is for a sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB). Here's what to expect:

- A special dye is injected to help the surgeon identify the first lymph nodes the cancer would reach
- Only a small number of nodes (usually 1–5) are removed
- This helps doctors confirm whether cancer has spread to the lymph nodes

Since your PET scan showed no spread to lymph nodes, that's really encouraging news! The SLNB will confirm this during surgery.

After surgery, you may notice blue or green urine for a couple of days from the dye β€” totally normal and nothing to worry about. Wishing you all the best on July 13th! πŸ’™
