Members coping with extreme heat shared many creative ways to stay active when outdoor walks and gardening feel impossible. Several members suggested indoor options like mall walking, YouTube workout channels (such as Leslie Sansone and Nourish Move Love), walking pads or treadmills, marching in place during chores, and chair yoga. A recurring theme was adjusting timing by going out very early in the morning, staying well hydrated, and giving yourself grace during heat waves while finding fun alternatives like swimming or indoor exercise videos.

There are many light exercise programs every morning on TV. (Sit and Be Fit here in New York) I do that in my pj's every morning 1/2 Hour. Then, at some time during the day, I pedal away from my lounge chair for 30 minutes while sitting watching the news. I am a lazy exerciser, but the total movement is one hour a day.

Hey!! I live in NM. I have all the answers. 😁 It's actually been much cooler this summer. We've had a few 100s.
I walk my dogs at 6 a.m. even if it's already 80. We have sand and dirt roads so their paws 🐾 don't burn. I've gone to the indoor mall once. I made the mistake of going on a Saturday. There were so many people!🥹 We have an Aquatic Center. I haven't needed to take the plunge just yet.
I water and garden after my morning walks. 🌄 I'm sure my plants 🌵 are a bit different than yours. I make sure I drink lots of water and am finished by 10:00.

It's rough! I will be hesitantant to step on the scale this week!! Too much sedentary time, and then visits with family- less calories burned, while more than usual going in!
Oh well. this too shall pass! Hang in there and stay hydrated! Hugs!

Our area wouldn't allow access to the schools, but there are malls that many will walk laps in before the stores open. The main entrances are open so employees can get to the shops, and the people walk without being challenged by the slower pace of meandering shoppers- lol! Good luck in finding an appropriate (and air-conditioned) answer to your search!! Hugs!

I thought I had replied to this post but it must have been a different one. Anyways, I have a portable/compact treadmill at home for bad weather. Whether it’s too hot, too cold, raining or snowing I can get my walk in. I got another one delivered up here in MI as it wasn’t nice weather when we first arrived. I got them both from Amazon.
