Several treatments are known to trigger joint pain, including:
- Hormone therapies like aromatase inhibitors (letrozole, anastrozole, exemestane), tamoxifen, and fulvestrant
- Chemotherapy drugs, especially taxanes like paclitaxel
- Targeted therapies like trastuzumab (Herceptin)
- White blood cell-stimulating drugs (G-CSFs) like filgrastim or pegfilgrastim Joint pain can begin at any point during treatment, but often starts within the first two months and peaks around the six-month mark. For some people, it does improve over time.
Common symptoms to watch for include:
