Members shared mixed experiences and perspectives on aromatase inhibitors for hormone-positive breast cancer, with several describing difficult side effects that led to breaks or discontinuation despite the 35-56% increased recurrence risk without them. A few members discussed alternative approaches, including repurposed medications like Ivermectin and Mebendazole or natural supplements like DIM Detox, while others debated the actual benefits of hormone treatments with their oncologists and expressed frustration over the lack of clear guidance. A recurring theme was the deeply personal nature of this decision, with members emphasizing the importance of balancing quality of life against cancer prevention and ultimately trusting their own instincts when standard treatments become unbearable.

Just my personal experience. But, I think in my situation when I have had to take breaks for dental work or toxicity Letrozole/Femara has still kept me NEAD. Could it not then be so even when I am taking both drugs? I often wish that they had staggered starting my drugs but thats not standard of care.

@A MyBCTeam Member Hi, Karen. AIs are NOT hormone therapy. AIs BLOCK hormone, Estrogen, so cancer cells can't feed on the Estrogen, grow, cancer reoccur. Yes, hormone positive bc do not need hrt, specially Estrogen. Sounds like your treatment is working well for you. Blessings.

The protocol I'm on is suppose to stop cancer before it starts, this is why I'm not on my AI. I have had no side effects with Ivermectin and Mebendazole. I also take DIM Detox 2 capsules daily 100mg.
It has been over a year and so far all is good. Praise the Lord :)
