Also started to have joint pains from Letrizole. Tried Zyflament which is a herbal supplement and has helped a lot.

Insomnia is one of the Letrozole side effects. I've had insomnia ever since I was a little kid, so I asked my doctor what time of day I should take the Letrozole and they told me to take it in the morning. I've been taking it for 5 months now and it has had an effect on my insomnia and I tend to go to bed a couple hours later now than I did prior to taking Letrozole.

How can you manage difficulty sleeping and joint pain while taking letrozole?

You're experiencing two common side effects of letrozole - insomnia and joint pain. It's great that Zyflamend is helping with your joint discomfort!

For sleep difficulties, here are some strategies that have helped others:

• Try taking letrozole in the morning instead of evening - timing can make a big difference for sleep
• Practice good sleep hygiene (consistent bedtime, cool dark room, limiting screen time)
• Consider cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which can be very effective
• Talk with your doctor about medications that might help - some MyBCTeam members found that antidepressants like venlafaxine (Effexor) helped reduce both hot flashes and improved sleep

For joint pain:

Since you've found relief with Zyflamend, you're on the right track. A MyBCTeam member shared that their joint pain improved significantly after the first six months on letrozole, so there's hope it may lessen over time.

Important next step:

Talk with your oncologist about your sleep issues. They may adjust your dosing schedule or recommend other solutions. Always get medical advice before changing how you take your medication.

Many people taking letrozole experience these side effects, and your healthcare team can help you find the right balance to manage them while continuing this important cancer prevention therapy.

I had awful insomnia on all 3 AIs. Florida has medical Marijuana so asked that doc. The 1:1 CBN:THC gummies he recommended works for me.

@VictoriaGus
Get permission to use melatonin from your Dr.
Lortadine, generic Claritin, also works for pain. Ask Dr.
