I use minoxidil , as per my oncologist and dermatologist. It works. I’m starting my fourth year of Anastrozole and every four months my hair starts shedding so I use the minoxidil right away and continue for a couple of months. Are you experiencing hair thinning on top of your head while taking Letrozole?
Hair loss can happen even without chemotherapy. While the search results focus mainly on chemo-related hair loss, some general strategies may help support hair health:
Nutrition Support:
- Ensure you're getting enough protein (about 5-6 servings daily for most women)
- Protein deficiency can contribute to hair thinning
- Good sources include fish, poultry, eggs, nuts, beans, Greek yogurt, and whole grains like quinoa
What to Consider:
- Sudden weight loss and vitamin deficiencies can affect hair growth
- Meeting with a registered dietitian nutritionist can help ensure you're getting proper nutrition
- Be gentle with your scalp and hair - avoid harsh treatments, hot styling tools, and chemical processes
It's important to discuss this hair loss with your oncologist, as they can evaluate whether it's related to your Letrozole treatment or other factors, and recommend appropriate solutions for your specific situation.
