You can do what ever you want.
Maybe a discussion with your oncologist on the chance of recurrence with and without taking an AI. If you can live with the risk of recurrence, you may have your answer.
There are 3 AI’s. If you decide to try and it doesn’t work for you, you could try another. Or you can quit at anytime.
Everyone is different, and not everyone have all the side effects, maybe you are one of them.

Yes, that is the problem--who knows? I could take the AI and still be one of the 3-4% who has a recurrence. I was, after all, one of the unfortunate 5% biopsied with a positive result! None of us knows what tomorrow will bring...Thank you for sharing your experience with me, I truly appreciate it.

I had lumpectomy + sentinel node removal in 2013 (56 years old). Same size tumor as yours found in both. Month later I had half my lymph nodes under my left armpit removed, no additional cancer found. 6 weeks radiation. Genetic testing showed no BRCA genes and low Dexa score so chemo would be NVA. Chemo recommended by my first oncologist anyway, I declined. 2 1/2 years Arimidex (AI) which I then discontinued due to side effects. In 2024 small bone mets found while I was getting imaging done for unrelated disc problems, no mets found in soft tissue. Cancer has been held in check by medicine - Ibrance and Fulvestrent for over a year and a half now. Would I have Stage IV now if I'd had chemo? Stayed on AI for 5 years? Both? Or would I still be where I'm at right now? Who knows?

I'm doing fine, I'm done with surgery and radiation that's was the easy part. Taken Letrozole for the last 6 months still feeling good but my liver enzyme our up so I have to change to Tamoxifen don't want to take that, Meeting with my oncologist in 2 weeks If my liver enzyme our still the same I'm coming off the drugs.....
