was diagnosed with invasive carcinoma ductal breast cancer stage 2b in Oct 2025. I thought I had years before having to worry about this . My husband in jail . I lost my dad to stage 4 cancer in 2022 and since my life went downhill . The rest of my family having nothing to do with me. Hi Felicia! Wow, you've been through a lot the past few years. I'm so happy for you that your aunt was there to step in and help you out.....she sounds like a wonderful woman! You're in treatment now, so that's the important thing. I just finished active treatment for my 6th round of cancer last September. All the treatments and surgeries and meds are tough, but you can do it! I personally believe in taking an aggressive approach and killing any new cancer as quickly as I possibly can. This is a great website that has tons of useful information about various treatments and how to cope with all we go through as cancer patients. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, so if you have questions or concerns or just want to connect with other people that get it, this is the place to be! I hope your PET scan goes well and good luck to you ❤️

The tumor is 5.5 cm I found it about 1.5 years ago and put off getting checked bc I was scared and life wasn't going to well. Knowing I was high risk due to my mother having breast cancer, then losing my dad to cancer I looked at it like I wasn't sick until they say I am

What resources and support are available while going through stage 2B breast cancer treatment?

Your aunt's love and support is truly remarkable, and it's wonderful that you now have the will to fight. Meeting with the social worker on February 10th is an excellent step—they can help connect you with resources for transportation, housing assistance, financial support, and other practical needs during treatment.

Stage 2B breast cancer means the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes or the tumor is slightly larger. The treatment plan you're following—chemotherapy (the "red devil" or doxorubicin), followed by surgery and radiation—is a standard and effective approach for stage 2B disease.

Your treatment timeline sounds well-planned:
* Completing your chemotherapy infusions
* Weekly treatments to continue shrinking the tumor
* Surgery to remove the cancer
* Radiation to target any remaining cancer cells

It's completely normal that your first chemo was scary, and having your second postponed due to low white blood cell counts is a common side effect. Your body is responding to treatment, and your care team is monitoring you closely to keep you safe.

The five-year survival rate for stage 2 breast cancer when it has spread to lymph nodes is about 87 percent, and many people are cured after treatment. Keep leaning on your aunt and the support systems you're building—you're doing everything right.
