In June(2025) I was diagnosed with ILC with Lymphovascular invasion and was treated( lumpectomy and radiation). For 3 years my thyroid has been monitored… this year the nodule has grown and is considered suspicious. Anyone had a similar experience? Biopsy on January 7, 2026.
Hi Jana, I did not have radiation, but I did develop 2 thyroid nodules after treatment. My PCP felt them during one of my appts, and sent me for an ultrasound. They were not at the size where a biopsy would be recommended- and the determination was to check it again in a year. So, a year later, I am back for the updated ultrasound- to find out they had added a few more to the party, but everything was determined to be benign. So, unless they grow larger and become uncomfortable- they will stay where they are. They are very common in women, especially over the age of 50.
Radiation can be a factor- but so can genetics. Try to keep positive thoughts! I will be keeping you in prayers for all good news with your biopsy! Hugs!
