Is anyone having trouble with frequent urinary tract infections?

I am on Verzenio and Letrozole... My oncologist had me hold both drugs for more than two weeks.I was in the hospital with both the urinary infection and an intestinal infection. As much as I hate those two drugs, I was more afraid to stop them. I am applying an estrogen cream to my sweet spot down there.But I am just wondering if other people are having as much trouble with urinary tract infections.

Letrozole often causes or contributes to urinary infections partly because it causes dryness in the vaginal area. The estrogen cream you are using should help you pretty quickly. All AIs and CDK inhibitors can cause or contribute to urinary tract infections. Since you are taking Letrozole that means your cancer is hormone positive. The Letrozole is used to prevent your body from making estrogen since estrogen is what feeds cancers that are hormone positive. Using estrogen cream "down there" is probably not a good idea as it defeats the purpose of the Letrozole which is to eliminate estrogen in our bodies to help prevent the cancer from returning. There are other products you can use that don't contain estrogen. Please ask your doctor what a safer alternative would be. Good luck to you ❤️

Urinary tract infections are common with those taking Letrozole. Being a bit older adds to this problem.

A lot of women drink cranberry juice or take AZO cranberry tablets which make a big difference.

Be sure to drink lots of water.
