I recently asked my oncologist about getting some new tattoos. My left arm is currently sleeved and the other was in process when I got sick in 2017. My right arm is the side where the breast cancer was both times. First time had double mastectomy and one lymph node removed. Second time had 2 or 3 small tumors removed along with 2 lymph nodes from some remaining breast tissue left after the mastectomy and 16 lymph nodes removed from armpit. My doctor said it's safe for me to get tattoos as long as my blood work is OK and my white blood cell counts are good since I'm taking an AI and start a CDK inhibitor tomorrow, 12/1.

Yes, and my plastic surgeon at UCLA said it if fine. I also had 4 lymph nodes involved.

I know you can get tattoo's after double mastectomy on reconstructed breast. I haven't done it yet but have considered a Areola & Nipples as I lost these during surgery. Plastic surgeon has it done by professional artist that works on his patients. I would ask your oncologist.
