I decided to discontinue Letrozole at 7.5 yrs. I still hv hot flushes, weight gain etc . Why.... 😢😢

I hear you! The Aromatase Inhibitor drugs are harsh. I am taking Letrozole and have been since June 2022.
The side effects of hot flashes, joint pain, weight gain, etc. I have experienced various of these. I have shared in my profile what is working for me to decrease or stop the side effects.

Hot flashes: Estroven Complete which is a Rhubarb extract. No estrogen. Approved by my Medical Oncologist. Works great.

Joint/muscle pain: Qunol CoQ10. Huge decrease in pain. Took about 2 weeks for full effect.

Vaginal dryness, pain, bleeding And Urinary incontinence and UTIs: Revaree Vaginal Suppositories. AND Imvexxy 4mg Vaginal Suppositories. Approved by my Medical Oncologist, OBGYN, and Sexual Medicine MD

I have No hot flashes, joint/muscle pain is a 3/10, vaginal dryness pain bleeding urinary incontinence is So MUCH BETTER! QUALITY OF LIFE RESTORED.

With the Aromatase Inhibitor drugs. There are 3. You may want too discuss changing to a different one.
I started on Anastrozole and it was horrendous for me. Each of us responds differently.
Explain to your Medical Oncologist and/or his RN what you are experiencing ( I would use the side effects list and make sure you include all that you are experiencing and on a scale of 1 = lowest and 10= worst or highest how it is impacting you)

You were on Letrozole for a long time.
You have not said how long that you have been off it.

Are you past the 3 month point?

There may be a change in appetite and
more balance in weight loss as time goes on.

Some joint pain may stay.

The good news is that many people find their symptoms gradually improve as their body adjusts. However, if you stopped letrozole after menopause (natural or treatment-induced), some symptoms like hot flashes might continue because they're related to your overall menopausal state, not just the medication.
