Hey! I am in the same boat as you. My pharmacy just switched Tamoxifan providers and my side effects are WAY worse than they were. I finally reached out to my oncologist and they just suggested stretching.
I am seeing a phycologist in two weeks that I was referred to by my oncologist for the depression/anxiety portion.

Research has shown that a lower dose of tamoxifen (5mg daily vs. standard 20mg) can still be effective at preventing breast cancer recurrence while potentially reducing side effects. Research has shown that a lower dose of tamoxifen (5mg daily vs. standard 20mg) can still be effective at preventing breast cancer recurrence while potentially reducing side effects. However, it's crucial to note that any changes to your medication dosage must be discussed with and approved by your doctor first.

Many MyBCTeam members have reported similar emotional challenges with tamoxifen, including depression, mood swings, and anxiety. You're not alone in experiencing these effects. Before considering stopping or changing your dosage, please speak with your doctor about:

• Strategies to manage your side effects
• Potential risks and benefits of dose adjustment
• Alternative approaches to managing mood-related symptoms
• Regular monitoring to ensure continued effectiveness

Remember: Never stop taking tamoxifen or adjust the dose on your own, as this could impact your treatment's effectiveness.
