I really liked longer surgical bras or sports bras. The shorter ones rubbed my incisions or dug into them. Amazon may have ones that are 2-3 inches longer. Make sure they zip or clasp in the front!

During early recovery, wearing a supportive sports bra day and night can help reduce movement and pain. Your surgical team may provide a special postsurgical support bra. Many insurance plans, including those with HSA or FSA, may help cover the cost of post-surgery bras with proper documentation from your doctor.

Here are key features to look for in a supportive bra:
• Wire-free design with some stretch
• Soft, cotton material
• Adjustable straps for flexibility
• Easy to put on and take off
• Consider sizing up for comfort
• Removable pads for size fluctuations MyBCTeam members recommend:
• Wearing soft camisoles under shirts for braless support
• Using bra extenders to prevent tight bands
• Choosing looser-fitting options during radiation
• Sports bras without seams for maximum comfort

Remember that swelling can cause size changes throughout the day, so having adjustable options is important for comfort and support.
