I bought a variety of zip front post surgery bras on Amazon prior to surgery. My favorite had Velcro straps that I could adjust the tightness and support. The compression is uncomfortable but really helped with post op pain. I am now using it again for radiation induced lymphedema in my breast. I am used to wearing a bra 24/7 these days. Try different ones until you find the one. Support and compression are important.

I've had multiple recontructive surgeons and they all advise to wear the bra for at least a few weeks after your incisions are totally healed. One of them even said to wear a bra 24/7/365. I personally stop wearing the bras as soon as I possibly can because the bra band causes me pain.

Do you still have swelling? Often the compression surgical bras are recommended by the surgeon to reduce swelling and seroma build up for lumpectomy reduction and reconstructed breasts. I would ask my plastic surgeon or breast care center if its okay to stop wearing the surgical bra and if so what to switch to.

I didn't wear s bra unless I had to and when I did, it was cotton. With good support and opened in the front. Wishing you well. Stay in touch. Love and hugs!!!

Try wearing a sports bra that zips in the front. I had a lumpectomy and wore mine 24/7 for a week. I had no pain.
